Mar 8-  I must admit, a life with Jesus sounds a lot more exciting when I look at it through the lens of prosperity gospel teaching. I am all in, but how do we get excited about a life with Jesus when it truly is giving up of my own desires, hopes, dreams? I know in my head that his ways are better for me but a life with Jesus feels more difficult and painful in many ways than going my own way. To lay down my life is really hard, especially when I don’t get to look at it through the prosperity lens of trusting that I will get something i deem as “good” in return for my sacrifices. I know a life with Jesus is a good gift but why doesn’t it feel that way?
