What We Believe

We believe there is so much that Jesus and scripture speak to in our lives.  Far more than can be summed up in any concise document that we could offer. A formal statement of beliefs cannot adequately address the depth and  nuance that so many of the subjects  our world and life throw at us, or how scripture speaks to them. We have been invited into a journey of faith and trust in Christ as we surrender ourselves to Him completely, and no one of us has all of that figured out. We believe that there is room at the table for many different viewpoints and perspectives along the process. Church history has passed a number of essentials down in the form of the Creeds and so for Living Springs, what we must believe can be succinctly  stated in the Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again
to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.

Amen.
There are many other things that we find agreement on within the staff and amongst the church, but the Apostles creed states what is essential for agreement. We enjoy a state of unity even amongst a diversity of beliefs with our staff and our congregation as a whole.
