August 13- In the Old Testament (especially in books like the prophets) god often talks about how the issues the land is facing are from him, as he is trying to get his people to turn back to him (such as locust, plagues, or famines). Do you think natural disasters are still acts of God trying to get people to turn back to him. One example I am pondering are all the crazy wildfires that seem to be getting worse year to year. Would love to hear your thoughts.

August 13- My spouse and I have been in ministry for 5 years and we just had to leave our church due to divisive leadership issues. Something we realized after leaving is that many of our relationships within the church were made simply because we were their pastors rather than having true friends and deep community. We spent so much of our time facilitating and creating community for those within our church we realized we didn't have much real community for ourselves. As pastors, how do you create authentic community for yourselves rather than simply being 'the pastors' to your congregation?
