Mar 28- I’m finding Matthew 23:1-4 (below) very troublesome. Why would Jesus tell the people to do what the Pharisees tell them to do just because they sit in Moses seat? First off, he himself says that it is a cumbersome heavy load, in other words that it’s not really necessary, so why wouldn’t he just tell them to use common sense and do what they need to do instead?

Secondly, he would know that soon it would be redundant to offer sacrifices, etc., because he would die on the cross and negate their necessity, so why would he make a point of telling them that they have to do all these cumbersome things their leaders are telling them to do? And what are we supposed to get from this? Only that we should also practice what we preach and not be demanding? I don’t get the point of all this. Thank you.

Matthew 23:1-4

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them."

Mar 29- Acts 1:18 says, “(With the payment he received for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out.”

‭But, the gospels tell us that Judas hung himself. Matthew 27:5.Can you please help me make sense of the conflicting narratives found in these passages.

Mar 31- I would like to know your thoughts on the ‘Shroud of turin’. Do you believe it could be evidence of Christ death and resurrection? Why or why not?  https://open.spotify.com/episode/26rPFdwdkVLCdyxO5S5OOD?si=qq8Pmk0pSdSaOqd6JNX4Hg&pi=e1zG52sjRFS4Z&t=4904 For reference.
