In our Q&A #270, Pastors Doug, Blake and Kyle discuss the following:

1.If you could use 1 verse or passage of scripture to sum up the entire message of the Bible, what would it be and why?

2.If you could go anywhere and do anything what would be your dream vacation?

3. “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Matthew 18:6 If we are told by Jesus here that our children are sacred, then why as a society do we allow things such as abortion and gender reassignment of children? I heard an interesting podcast recently where it was discussed that it is highly possible that there is a relatively large contingent of people, on the "knife" side and patient side, of gender reassignment for example that are narcissistic and as such believe that gender can be decided on whenever we choose and ignore the possibility that temperment differences don't necessarily equate to a person being of the wrong gender! At the risk of sounding like a bully and predator by those opposed to my opposition, why can't we protect these children by at the very least requiring that they wait until they are further along in their development and have undergone rigorous therapy to first rule out other possible causes? Instead, we make it illegal for a parent to have access to their children in these extremely vulnerable states and have decided it's better for our institutions to shield them from what might be considered sensible parenting! Part rant, part question, bottom line I'm tired of being told I can't say anything and that I'm an uncaring person if I question these things! If these beliefs about our children NEEDING dangerous hormone treatments and surgeries are so robust in their origin, then they should be able to stand up to challenge right? Thanks for taking the time to read this!

3. Can existentialist ideas belong in the church? This goes largely into the topic of meaning and purpose. Can we create our own meaning through serving Jesus but it’s US who creates it and not Him or is that completely against an attribute of who God is..this maker that takes care of us and ultimately creates us?
